My name is Rob Wilson. I'm a California based graphic designer and high school teacher by day and traditional media artist in my spare time. You'll see a little of both throughout this site.

 

As a kid, my mom told me to get a job in computers when I grew up... "it's the future." I don't think graphic art is what she had in mind, but after my first experience with Photoshop, I was hooked. At age 19, I knew what I wanted to do with my life. 

 

While attending college for Graphic Design I followed other artistic passions such as drawing, painting, photography, ceramics, glass blowing, and sculpture. That last one resonated with something inside of me much like my discovering Photoshop.

 

The first time I welded two pieces of metal together was an amazing feeling. I didn't have to develop it in a dark room, fire it in a kiln, or cool it off in an oven only to find out that it was cracked, shattered, or just bad. Graphic design and sculpture gave me control to undo and change the work along the way. I'm a bit of a perfectionist, so it's no surprise that I sought these things out through different media. I decided to stay in school longer to get a degree in sculpture as well.

 

Today my design work is based in print production and my sculpture mostly functional. I've added woodworking and lighting to my list of passions and I still love to draw and paint when I can. There's just not enough time to do them all!

 

I like to explore different styles and cultures in my artwork. I'm also heavily influenced by everything Science Fiction/Fantasy.
